    Love this place!
I've been coming to Cafe Degas for almost 20 years. The wine list, ambience, wait staff, and food are all amazing. Some of my favorites are the cheese & pate boards, French onion soup, crab & brussel salads.
In addition, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the outdoor seating overlooking the trees, old houses, and quaint neighborhood.

Wow. That word I just said could be taken as an understatement.

Came here after visiting NOMA and was delighted to be seated near the tree that my lady was constantly talking about. The service was top notch! Very attentive wait staff that were constantly near by to take care of our needs. It is a little cramp in here but I enjoy it due to the fact you can hear other great conversations about city life.

Now on to the food! We started with the escargot and it was delicious! The bread that they served with it was delightful and satisfying! I ended up with the steak fillets and enjoyed every minute of my meal. Can not say enough how great the meal was!

    Please go try!

I treated myself to a solo lunch after a stressful morning meeting at one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

Cafe Degas is located at 3127 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans.

Cafe Degas is a ovely cozy, romantic tree house feel for a french restaurant. An actual tree runs thru it, which is pretty cool. You have the option to sit outside on the small patio area. It's beautiful in and outside, so there's no bad seating.

Today I was pleasantly surrounded by the pri Cafe Degas - $18 prix fixe lunch Wed and Thurs $5 Mimosas

I never had a bad meal here, delicous French inspired food. I tried escargot once and actually loved it until I told my family I ate it and they made me picture the damn snail...

Wait staff attentive and helpful, food was up quick.

I highly recommend Cafe Degas, it's a local favorite, well mine's anyway lol

This visit came from two folks who recommended this cafe and their recommendation was a Home Run! While it was a 15-20 minute ride from the Ace Hotel, it was well worth it. We had a reservation on a Saturday (that I highly recommend you make) and were seated right away and our waitress was amazing and came with recommendations since it was our 1st time there. We started with the Le Plateau de Fromage Plate 11 Board which is a selection of domestic and imported cheeses and fresh seasonal fruit. Simply amazing and a must order! For my meal I opted for  L'omelette aux Crevettes et Fines Herbes which is their Omelet with shrimp, oyster mushrooms, apple smoked bacon, fine herbs - served with petite salade. Wow this was amazing and by far one of the best Omelets I've ever had! For my 1st time visit to New Orleans, this was a wonderful experience and do look forward to recommending to others and visiting whenever I'm back!

    Totally worth it!

We were wondering where to have dinner and the bartender at our hotel recommended this place. We called ahead to make sure we could be seated (it's small). We were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the service great and the wine list, well ...

We had had a terrible experience the night before at Galitoire's and were so happy to have a much better experience here.  A hidden gem outside of the French Quarter, most of the diners were locals.

We were so pleased with the recommendation that we took an extra desert back to our hotel for the bartender and slipped her a cash tip as well.

    Highly recommended!
